On the first Sunday in December, Redeemer was able to host Chorlton’s neighbourhood light switch on yet again. One of the joys of being a church in Chorlton is to collaborate with other businesses to keep our community connected.
We hope that any joy received from being here would be a reflection of the joy we receive through Jesus.
A church in Chorlton gets the opportunity to extend that joy to others, and we love being able to do just that!
Here are some photos:
Chorlton Light Switch ON
As a church in Chorlton, we love getting to put on big events like this. Fun for everyone!
Brass Band
Stretford Band came to play for us all at Chorlton’s Light Switch On.
Collaboration
Redeemer worked with the Royal Oak pub, local traders, Stretford Brass Band, Mr Floors and RAG gallery.
Father Christmas!
All the children were very excited that Father Christmas took some time to come by and switch on the lights.
Christmas Market
We had a good amount of local traders that contributed to our Christmas market.
Independent Traders
We had traders like the Coffee Pod, a coffee shop out of the back of a van!
Fun for everyone
Inside out of the cold, the pub was buzzing with activity.
Crafts for Kids
Redeemer had a couple of crafts on for kids: a make your own ornament, and a biscuit decorating table.
Chorlton Festivities
Redeemer has hosted the light switch on for a handful of years now. Each year it’s grown and leaves more room for more people.

Another pick from our market, Fay Charlotte makes handmade prints.
Celebration
We were also joined by the Celebration Party Shop.

After the lights were switched on, we had a carols sing along.
Christmas in Chorlton
The light switch on helps mark the start of this Christmas season. We hope and plan it to be part of Chorlton for years to come!
